Website development

Short answer

PunkSolid builds new websites—marketing, editorial, and multi-template content sites—using AI-assisted development in Cursor with human review on architecture, security, accessibility, and SEO. You receive the full source repository at handoff and can maintain the site yourself, hire another developer, or ask us for optional 1:1 Cursor coaching.

PunkSolid website development is for teams that need a production property—not a disposable template. We design information architecture, build templates in Cursor, and keep human review gates on security, accessibility, and SEO before anything goes live. When the site launches, you keep the full repository.

When this service fits

Choose website development when you are launching a new brand site, replacing a slow CMS theme, or adding a multi-template marketing site that must stay fast under real content volume. If you already have a large WordPress install with thousands of URLs, start with website migration or WordPress to Astro or Next.js instead; build and migrate engagements overlap in tooling but differ in cutover risk.

If your team generated a quick prototype in a vibe-coding tool, pair this work with vibe code to production when auth, logging, and deployment paths still need hardening.

How we work

Our methodology breaks work into specs, implementation, and verification. Agents draft components and content helpers; engineers own routing, data boundaries, and release decisions. We document habits in Cursor rules and often point teams to spec-driven development so acceptance criteria stay visible in the repo—not only in chat logs.

On migrations we have rebuilt nine sites in client and network work, including eight healthcare provider properties with 1,000–6,000 pages each (details in the healthcare WordPress rebuilds case study). New builds use the same discipline: structured content fields, import paths, and performance budgets checked before launch.

SEO, analytics, and performance

Metadata, canonical tags, sitemaps, and internal links are part of delivery—not a post-launch add-on. When you rely on Google Tag Manager, GA4, consent banners, call tracking, or form tools, we plan hook points during template design so marketing tags survive refactors.

We report PageSpeed scores from lab tests when we have before-and-after runs; we do not confuse those 0–100 scores with Core Web Vitals pass or fail in Search Console. On the healthcare rebuilds, mobile PageSpeed scores moved from about 65–75 to 92–98, and Core Web Vitals passed on mobile and desktop in Search Console about four days after launch.

Handoff and optional coaching

Handoff means repository access, deploy documentation, and enough README context that another developer can continue—see code ownership for what stays yours after delivery. Optional 1:1 Cursor coaching is customized to what your team needs—for example, editing hero copy safely or running the test suite before merge.

We do not publish fixed package prices or invented timelines on this page. After discovery we outline scope, milestones, and what “done” means for your launch.

Web app development covers authenticated products and dashboards. Custom software development is for integrations and internal tools that are not primarily marketing sites. AI code review helps when you already have agent-generated code and want a structured review before release.

What we need from you

Discovery goes faster when you share staging or production URLs, a sitemap export if one exists, brand and accessibility requirements, and the analytics tools that must survive launch. If legal or compliance teams govern copy or form fields, loop them in before templates freeze. We do not need a finished creative brief, but we do need to know which integrations are non-negotiable.

Boundaries

This page covers marketing and content-forward websites. It does not promise marketplace plugin compatibility audits, infinite free design iterations, or fixed-price quotes without discovery. Hosting bills, vendor SaaS fees, and stock asset licenses stay yours. We document deploy targets such as Cloudflare Pages or your existing pipeline; we do not resell hosting as a hidden margin.

Trademarks and independence

Cursor is a trademark of Anysphere, Inc. Claude Code is a product of Anthropic. PunkSolid is an independent company and is not affiliated with those vendors. We use their names only to describe tools in client work.

Working with agents without losing the plot

Website builds attract huge agent-generated diffs in the first week. We keep scope legible by tying each template to a short spec, limiting blast radius per pull request, and running link scans before merge. Your marketing team still reviews visible claims; agents do not publish pricing, medical, or legal statements without a human pass. That rhythm matches how we operate on our own network properties—see methodology for the full gate sequence.

How it works

  1. Discovery and information architecture

You share goals, page types, integrations, analytics, and launch constraints. We map templates, content sources, and risks before implementation starts.

  2. Spec-driven implementation

Work runs in Cursor with written acceptance criteria, type checks, and link scans. Editors review claims, layout, and metadata before pages ship.

  3. Launch verification

We smoke-test forms and key flows, confirm tracking hooks, and watch Search Console for crawl issues in the first week after launch when applicable.

  4. Repository handoff

You get deploy notes, Cursor rules, README guidance, and optional coaching so the next change does not depend on us.

FAQ

Do we own the code?

Yes. Every client receives full access to the finished codebase. You can edit in Cursor, use your own CI, or hand the repo to another agency. We do not lock you into a hosted-only CMS.

Which stacks do you use?

We choose the stack to fit performance, editorial workflow, and your team. Common choices include Astro, Next.js, and static or edge hosts such as Cloudflare Pages. We confirm the stack during discovery—not before we understand your constraints.

Is PunkSolid affiliated with Cursor or Anthropic?

No. Cursor is a trademark of Anysphere, Inc. Claude Code is a product of Anthropic. We use those tools in client work as independent contractors.

How do we start?

Use the contact form with your project type and optional site URL. We reply from [email protected] with questions and a proposed first step.
